We do not use student data to train AI models, and the AI providers we use are contracted directly and barred from using student personal information to train their models.

Built for COPPA and FERPA
Sketti is designed for K-12 classroom use under school authorization.
- School official / service provider. In the classroom, Sketti acts as a “school official” under FERPA and the school’s service provider, processing student data only under the school’s direction and for its educational purposes.
- School approval before use. A teacher cannot use Sketti with students until an administrator at their school approves; the school makes the decision, not the individual teacher.
- The data belongs to the school. Student data collected under a school’s authorization belongs to the school, which may review it, direct us to delete it, or stop collection at any time.
- District agreements and transparency. We are prepared to sign a district or state data-privacy agreement, including the SDPC National Data Privacy Agreement with the applicable state exhibit. Our current sub-processor list is published at sketti.ai/subprocessors.

Security
Sketti uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect classroom data; our security measures are described in Section 8 of our Privacy Policy. If we confirm a breach affecting student data, we notify the affected school or district within 72 hours, and affected individuals without unreasonable delay and no later than 30 days, as set out in our Privacy Policy.
No retroactive repurposing
A future policy change will not turn protected classroom data into training data. Classroom data collected under Sketti’s no-training commitment will not later be moved into AI training, fine-tuning, shared retrieval, or shared evaluation datasets.
